James Lindner

Growing up in the world of sport fishing, James Lindner has filmed and fished from the Arctic Circle to the Gulf of Mexico, and from the Atlantic to the Pacific coasts and just about every place in between. As a renowned multi-species fisherman, James has few equals; and his prowess in the world of musky fishing is legendary. Today James is co-host of Lindner’s Angling Edge and Fishing Edge Television shows and CEO of Lindner Media Productions.

Recognized as one of the best directors and producers in the outdoor industry, James lives, eats, and sleeps fishing. In 2008, James was inducted into the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame as a Legendary Communicator for his outstanding achievement in the realm of sport fishing. In 2003, he was also honored as the Rapala Angler of the Year and has been inducted into the Minnesota Fishing Hall of Fame.

Today, James is at the helm of Lindner Media Productions overseeing the production of educational fishing programs, national television commercials, product sales presentations, point of purchase product videos shown in sporting goods stores, as well as providing their trademark underwater and aerial footage and photography to the sport fishing industry.

If anyone has cut his teeth on the handle of a fishing rod, then James surely has. In the early days, he had traveled with Ron and Al on their many filming adventures. In 1969, James at the age of 10 was Al’s boat partner in the very first television segment that Al had ever produced. Following in the family tradition, James served his apprenticeship as a guide starting at the age of 14. He was well booked every summer through his teenage years. Later in college, he spent his summers guiding at a Canadian camp, as well as filming with Al and Ron.

In 1981, James, with a few credits short of a major in Journalism and a minor in Aquatic Biology, took on responsibility for the entire production of the In-Fisherman TV and video work. James has been filming, producing, directing, script writing, and editing television shows ever since.

In 2001, James along with his brother Dan launched Lindner Media Productions, which developed into Lindner’s Angling Edge TV and other network programming.

A top grade tournament bass fisherman in his own right, James for a time dominated the Canadian/American Smallmouth Bass circuit, with multiple first place wins on the KBI and FFBC. James has wins and high placing in many other events. James is none-the-less adept with most freshwater and even saltwater species. Each year he accepts a limited, yet highly attended series of speaking engagements.

Today Jim, along with his brother Dan, his son Nick and nephew, Troy, plunged into the multi-faceted T.V. and internet social media world. One of his newest projects, AnglingBuzz, is an exciting new ground-breaking brand that brings new and current fishing information to fishermen in real-time. And at the same time, he launched a new program titled, “The Ontario Experience,” which features travels to some of North America’s last wilderness.
